Meet Corso Law: Advocating for the LGBTQ Community

At LezVolley, we're incredibly fortunate to work with sponsors who don't just put their logo on our event—they believe in the community that makes it so special.

This year, we're excited to welcome Corso Law, PLLC as a new LezVolley sponsor.

Let's be honest: needing a lawyer is rarely something we plan for. Whether you're buying your first home together, growing your family, going through a difficult separation, protecting your rights, or simply trying to get your affairs in order, legal matters often come during some of life's most stressful moments.

That's exactly why finding someone you trust matters.

Representation Matters—In Every Profession

Corso Law was founded by attorney Lisa Corso, who has spent the last 13 years building an impressive legal career across New York. She began prosecuting serious felony cases in the Bronx before returning to her home community to work for the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, where she investigated and prosecuted vehicular homicide cases.

She later served as a law clerk for a New York State Supreme Court Justice, working on a wide range of complex civil matters including medical malpractice, personal injury, constitutional claims, and Child Victims Act cases.

Today, she brings that experience to her own practice with one simple goal: making the legal process feel less overwhelming and more approachable.

Because let's face it—the legal system can feel intimidating enough without wondering whether your attorney truly understands your life and your family.

Built for Real Life

Corso Law helps clients with a broad range of legal needs, including:

  • Family law, including divorce, custody, visitation, adoption, separation agreements, and prenuptial agreements

  • Criminal defense

  • Real estate transactions

  • Wills, trusts, and estate planning

  • Contract disputes and mechanic's liens

  • Constitutional claims

Whether you're planning for the future or navigating an unexpected challenge, having an experienced advocate can make all the difference.

An LGBTQ-Owned Firm That Gets It

One of the reasons Corso Law wanted to sponsor LezVolley is because Lisa is part of the LGBTQ community herself.

Long before she came out seven years ago, she saw firsthand the strength of the community through her sister and her wife, who have been together for over 20 years. When Lisa came out herself, she found a life that felt more aligned with who she truly is and credits the LGBTQ community with giving her the confidence to embrace that journey. Today, she's proud to give back by serving that same community through her legal practice.

Whether you're navigating family planning, completing a name change, protecting parental rights, buying property together, or simply looking for an attorney who won't require you to explain your relationship before getting to the actual legal issue, having someone who truly understands can make all the difference.

As Lisa shared with us:

“Most of the time when you need a lawyer, it's one of the more difficult times of your life. It can feel frustrating and out of your control. I hope my clients feel comfortable knowing they're working with someone who has shared similar experiences and understands our community.”

Sometimes the biggest relief is simply knowing the person sitting across the table already gets it.

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
